梳妝的維納斯 Awakening

雖然《梳妝的維納斯》被推測,也許是羅丹《地獄門》同時期創作之作品。身體扭轉是來自於無胳膊的凝思(Meditation
without Arms),平滑的上半身相似祈禱(The
Prayer)姿勢。
《梳妝的維納斯》面部表情和諧,波浪般的頭髮飄逸,增添了作品的優雅和感染力。這作品的模特兒可能是曾在1880年早期擔任羅丹長達13年模特兒的黑髮義大利女子卡門‧維絲康堤(Carmen
Visconti)。在眾人猜測下,卡門‧維絲康堤可能是《夏娃》、《梳妝的維納斯》作品之創作靈感來源。
《梳妝的維納斯》也被稱作《跪著地女農牧神》。這件作品位於《地獄門》門楣中心,《沉思者》右邊,雕塑平滑的肌膚散發出一種獨特的優雅、感性和天真。
Although the date of this partial figure is unknown, it has been
speculated that it may have developed from studies done for Rodin's
monumental project, The Gates of Hell. The twisting contortion of
the body is somewhat reminiscent of Meditation without Arms and the
smoothness of the upper body shows similarities to another partial
figure, The Prayer.
The model for both the Awakening and Toilette of Venus may have been
the dark-haired Italian Carmen Visconti of Fiesole, who had modeled
for Rodin during a period of 13 years, including the early 1880's.
In several press interviews, Carmen Visconti had recollected her
model sessions for 'Eve',

This sculpture, taken from The Gates of Hell (where it is located in
the tympanum, to the right of The Thinker) exudes an exceptional
grace. Eroticism and ingenuousness radiate from its gentle yet
powerful contours.
